  • Huge question about sending money to my joint savings acount wth my american husband

Hi everybody, so here is the thing...

My husband and I have the interview pretty soon, but we have only A THOUSAND in our savings, we started with 7 thousand but we had to spend a lot in our apartment deposit (3 thousand), apartment furniture, and a lot of things like deposits for electricity bill.

So now what we have is a thousand in the savings, and in the checking there is always money coming in from his job and coming out cause we spend money, like a thousand something week in the checking coming in and out from his job

But the 7 thousand we had on the savings, was from a wire transfer that my father sent to me, from my home country, because I could not work here and to help us out also cause some of that money was from my own savings that I left there. Now, we wanted to show that we have some more money in our savings to the government, so I was thinking in ask my father to send more 2 thousand, not that we would use, just to save in our account for him and to show in the next extract that we have 3 thousand which is a decent money for a new savings account, so the government see that we have some money saved up.

But I heard that some people pay americans to get married, the fact that I would ask my father to send money to us, to show that we have some more to the government, would it help us, or would it make the officer in the interview think that my father is paying my husband? LOL which is not the case, but I do not want to give that impression

So would be better ask my father to send that, tho show the officer me and my husband have some money saved up, or better show only our 1 **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** and not tell my father to send anything?

Thanks a lot I REALLY NEED ADVICE ON THIS

ps: we do have credit cards jointly, his paychecks go automatically to our checking joint account, we have names in the same lease and live together, we gonna have joint tax return filled, pictures, Is a true marriage, I just need advice in that money stuff.

Y would having money in your savings account prove anything, unless u r using assets as a means of helping your affidavit of support. It wouldn't reflect as sayings as the deposits aren't over several periods of time. Trying to impress might hurt instead of help.

I understand, so your advice is that is better he not send that money yet?

Also, our joint sponsor I sent all the required documentation in october proving that he has a job and tax docs, Will I have to show his recent proof of income in our interview in february? Should I ask him for his most recent paystubs or we gonna be fine with what I already sent in october 22th?

I am not an expert and please do not take this a legal advice, but I don't think you have anything to worry about if your father sends you money. If anything, the government wants to know that you can support your spouse, so more money is probably better than less.
