I applied both I-130 and I-485 for my parents back in Sept 2014. My mom got the interview earlier this month and was requested to get the police clearance since her fingerprint did not come up twice.
However, my dad's case was still pending. They sent us the request for evidence since his birth certificate was not clear enough. He redid it, and sent the new one back to the USCIS. The case status online mentioned that the USCIS has received the response for their request for evidence on November 18th. And my dad should get their letter for an update on Jan 17th, 2015. Up to now, we haven't received anything. So, I called the USCIS this morning and got multiple answer
1) One agent told me that the update online was just an automatic reply from the computer. So, the Jan 17th date means nothing. He said it should be 6 months from the day we filed our application, which was back from Sept 2014. Hence, we should had something by March 1st, 2015.
2) The other agent, when my dad called them, said that it would be 6 month from the date he submitted his response for the request of evidence, which was November 18th.
Can anyone please tell me what the timeline should be? Should it be 6 months from the date of the application or should it be 6 month from the November 18th? We are so confused now.
