I'm in the same boat. Yet to apply for I 485. I have only the hospital issued birth certificate from Nigeria. My Attorney is asking for the govt issued one. I read in an article that those who are born before 1988 were issued only hospital birth certificate and born after were given Govt issued birth certificate. will this article help if I attach for reference.

        Please post ur updates

          Hi all
          I am Egyptian .
I was born in Saudi Arabia.
I have been randomly selected for further processing in the DV-2016 based on my “Foreign State Chargeability: SAUDI ARABIA” .
I delivered my saudi birth certificate when i get back to my country to issue egyptian birth certificate -where country of birth is contained- since 27 years ago.
Is “saudi birth certificate” required in my interview?
I entered “city of birth” in ds260 while it’s n’t on my birth certificate, should I unlock ds260 to remove it?
I really appreciate if you could advice me.
          Thank you in advance,

                Hi Joe,

I am in a similar situation like you have been in the past. My wife was born in Saudi Arabia and we have applied for I-485 based upon her consular birth report. We need to obtain her birth certificate or a nabc from saudi authorities. Can you please guide me in detail about the procedure you went through? (details like which newspaper was used, what was the starting point, which office to visit etc.).

We have submitted her 1. Consular birth report from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 2. Doctor birth report and 3. Her very first passport as her birth proofs to USCIS.

I would really appreciate your kind help in this regard as I am in a desperate situation. Can you please help?

                Have a great day!

                Thanks,

                Anwar.

                      Unavailability of Birth Certificate

                      Hi All,
Me and my husband had applied for our I-485 on the 13th of March, 2017. hoping to receive our EAD by the 13th of June, 2017. I am an Indian who was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, hence the lawyers asked me to get the birth certifcate from the Civil registry of Saudi Arabia, since I had my certificate from the Indian Embassy of Saudi Arabia. We had submitted all secondary evidence of my birth (hospital certificate and the birth certificate from the Indian Embassy of Saudi Arabia). My husband got his EAD on June 4th from USCIS (USCIS had mailed his EAD on the 1st of June, 2017). My case was in process till yesterday. Whe we looked up online yesterday (the 12th of June, 2017), it says "Request for Further Evidence". My OPT (non-STEM) is expiring on the 19th of June, after which I won't be able to work. I have a job with a Unversity starting in August. I am unaware of how long it will take for me to receive the RFE by mail. We're guessing that the RFE will have something to do with my Birth Certificate, but we're hoping for it to be something trivial. I am completely unaware of how long this process will take. My relatives have tried contacting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and lawyers regarding my birth certificate for the past several months, but they have had no luck. They also tried to get a "Certificate of Unavailability of Birth", and their attempts have been failing miserably. Does anyone have any idea: as to how we can go about the birth certificate process? details regarding how long it will take for us to send back the RFE docs and get the EAD approved? Or perhaps any suggestions?

                      Any thoughts would be helpful!

Indian, Born in Saudi in 1991, Have medical certificate and Indian Embassy BC

                        HI All,
I am in the same situation and was asked to provide a more concrete Birth certificate. Did any one find an answer to what needs to be done

                        - Born in Saudi in 1991
                        - Have the Indian Embassy Certificate of Birth
                        - Have Urdu Hospital documents attested by some governing body(I'm guessing municipality Civil court?)

I am an Indian citizen, who was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 1983.
We left the country before the 'one-year' mark so I wasn't issued a birth certificate. I was simply added to my mother's Indian passport based on the Saudi hospital's admittance slip (which has subsequently been lost) and travelled to India based on that (I have a copy of my mother's original passport). Subsequently I received my own Indian passport.
I am now applying for my Green Card through family.
In lieu of my birth certificate I have 2 affidavits from family confirming that no birth certificate was issued in Saudi Arabia and an official letter from the Embassy Of India in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia stating that they have no 'record of possession of my birth certificate'. Will these three documents be enough to be considered as "alternate / secondary" evidence.
                          Thank you.
                          S.
Did that work for you ?

                              Hi,

Can someone help me as to How to Apply for Re-issue of Birth Certificate from Saudi Arabia ? I only have the Consulate birth certificate, Indian Embassy with me which is not acceptable by the USCIS. I do not have hospital notification too. My mother's old passport has me my birth details endorsed. Is it possible to get a birth certificate ?

I was able to obtain birth certificate from Saudi Arabia for my US immigration process.
I am an Indian national born in Saudi Arabia, migrated back to India after 3 years. The Birth certificate i had with me was issued by
Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately USCIS wont accept this birth certificate. We had a really bad time obtaining the birth certificate from Saudi Arabia.
Non of the Saudi embassy in my home county, in US as well as the country where am residing now provide any help during the process. We send many email to everyone begging for help to do something with the situation. Our case was about to expire due to the lack of birth certificate. Lucky and with gods grace we able to obtain birth certificate from Ministry of civil affairs, Saudi Arabia.
It was a difficult process during this Covid time to obtain the certificate.. I am writing this to just to let everyone know the it is really possible to obtain the certificate from overseas, but you will need at least you mother or father residing at Saudi Arabia to help you to act on your behalf. It was a hard time for us, but somehow me made it. The process took around 6 months.
