  • No EA card before interview

Hi everyone...This site is such a good information's source from actual experiences
    Here is my personal worries.

My wife (US citizen) and i sent a package filed for my adjustment of status on Dec 3rd.

We then received receipt notices on Dec 8th.

Later we received a notice to appear for bio-metrics on Jan 7th , which i went. From then i have been checking online with my different receipts numbers....until we received another notice to appear for the interview on Feb 19th. But nothing regarding the Employment Authorization card or status.

Out of all my receipts numbers , only the one corresponding to the I485 returns " Interview is scheduled". Any other receipt number that i have returns this " My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. "

I thought my case was moving fast and was happy. But now i am worried as it's been 30 days since the bio-metrics appointment and our interview is literally two weeks from now and still nothing regarding the EA card being in production or whatsoever. In most cases i'read here and friend's experiences they receive the card before their interview.

Have anyone else encountered the same issue ? What would that mean ? Should i worry or it doesn't matter if i don't hear anything about the EA card until i go to the interview ?

Thanks to the community already for your experiences and opinions on this matter

    ----- hey there,

EA CARD makes no difference what so ever, you won't need it for the interview since green card if approved will replace that work authorization permit anyway!

btw EA CARD takes 3 months average and has not even been 3 months! you're so lucky your case is moving so fast!!
    good luck

Thanks for your answer. I am sure i am very lucky on how fast my case is moving. At the same time you know that until it's all done and well done, you can't really stop wondering. What got me intrigued here is that a lot people if they did't get they EA card before the interview , get some type of "encouraging" response in regard to it's establishment. The system basically does't recognize the receipt numbers i've been sent. However, i know i should be more patient....It's just that it's very hard on the wife supporting the household and i am tired of not working too. Lol

Thanks for the support and i hope you have a somehow better or at least good looking situation yourself.

      GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE

Does it mean that you have not included your I-693 medical report when you submitted your I-485? Maybe its just ok to have it submitted later but will just delay the processing of your GC.....

They didn't request any evidence form as i sent most in initial package : medical examination report is very important from what i heard and should be included at first. However, i think you can take it to the interview if one.

Anyone else dealing with Lee Summit's Office ? Is it How they usually proceed ? I mean no EAD until interview ?

Once, you have a RFE, the processing of your case stops and the cycle of obtaining your EAD card starts over. Therefore, your processing time will take longer. Unless, your online message, has scheduled an interview, you will receive your combo card first.
