Waiting for response from NVC

Hello, this is the first time I have posted here, not sure if this is the right place. My wife is an illegal immigrant, EWI. I have already payed our fees to the USCIS and we have sent off information to the NVC. We are planning to file for a waiver for my wife. Our lawyers said this could take up to 6 months.

My question is this, should we wait and apply for the Obama amnesty program when it becomes available in May? Or just hold out and hope her waiver gets approved?
