  • 2015 income

I have a question, I files my aos package in December 2014 , my icome was just above the cutoff mark for a house hold for two but my income for 2015 is a bit less cause I change jobs. Will this affect our filing or does uscis only look at the year in which u file ?

USCIS and or the NVC and or the Embassy of interview looks at proof of current income when annualized, in addition to copy of most recent Federal income tax return.

Proof of ongoing income and how it will annualize is probably a tad more important than your 2014 tax return total income.

From what you have reported here, however, a co-sponsor would be a good idea, if this is for an immigrant visa.

If this is for a visitor visa, sponsorship ability is not tested, but just reviewed with other factors.

An employment verification letter or contract, coupled with paystubs, carries most weight.

Take the joint sponsorship package (I-864, tax return,W2 copies, proof of U.S. legal status) to the interview.

                    Mr. Ray B

If my spouse gets works authorization before we file taxes for 2015 will we still need the joint sponsor ?

If your sponsor lacks proof of recent work history and income, you need a co-sponsor.
