Hello everyone,
My PD is August 2008 for EB2 India. When it became current in June last year 2014, I along with my wife and daughter applied for Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status. However, Unfortunately, my attorney's office forgot to send a document so we received an RFE due to that. We responded to the RFE in the given time but there was no update from USCIS since then. When I check my case status online, here is what it says:
"On September 11, 2014, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number SRC **** **** **** **** **** **** **. Our Texas Service Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. You should receive a decision or case update by November 10, 2014, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address." (This is the status from many months)
My attorney created a Service request number but didn't receive anything. I called the USCIS phone number and they asked us to create a Service request number -- which my attorney already did -- but still no success.
My attorney said its not a bad idea to schedule an appointment with local office thru Infopass but there are appointments available.
SO I am totally confused.
Friends -- could you please advise what could be the issue? My attorney says PD is not the issue for me (March visa bulletin is Jan 1st 2007 for EB2 India) as I already applied for I485 adjustment.
Could you please advise/share your inputs? Is this something to do with Texas Service Center?
