  • No Biometric letter after 30 days of waiting. Please advise.

    Hi

I've submitted my application (I-485) a month ago and got the receipt confirmation in the mail. It's been 31 days since the receipt date and I haven't received the fingerprint/biometric letter yet. Many of you have received your appointment and got your fingerprint done within a month from the receipt date. The Service Center is NSC. Our lawyer says the wait is acceptable and that it could take up to 3 months to get the biometric appointment!!! This is the first time I hear this.

Any advise will really be appreciated. Thank you for taking some time off your busy schedule~

A three-month wait for a Biometrics appointment is not standard or usual. A 30+ day wait, however, is till within the parameters, but seems a tad long.

Thank you, Ray B. I think, regardless of what the lawyer says (e.g. up to 3 months wait for a biometric appointment!), I will probably have to call Customer Service. It's just crazy to wait for so long.

So...I called USCIS Customer Service & since 30 days have passed since the receipt notice, the Rep took my information such as name, add, phone number, etc. and has put in a request to the service center where the application is being filed. I've been told to wait for 15-30 days and was given a long reference ID.

When asked how long it normally takes to get the Bio appointment letter, the rep told me 30 days. Which is weird is why my lawyer said it could take up to 60 or 90 days for the appointment to arrive! I just hope that the phone call makes a difference and I get it sooner than what the lawyer said.

It seems like you get different info on biometrics depending on who you happen to talk to that day..... it's really frustrating. When I called them they said it takes 'at least 2 months' and the he had 'never heard of ANYONE getting it before that'.... so it's any ones guess but at least the person you talked to was somewhat helpful!
