There's a great overview of changing employers while your I-485 is being processed at this site: https://www.immihelp.com/changing-em...tatus-pending/
However, I have a couple of specific questions. In my case my AOS has been pending for 180 days, my I140 is approved and I have received my EAD, I have a job opportunity which is substantially similar (same state, same industry, same title, same salary - however much smaller company: Current employer is 90,000 employees, potential employer is a startup with 10 employees), apparantly I should have a pretty good case for continuing the AOS processing with a new employer.
What specific steps should I take? I'm currently represented by my current employers attorney, they obviously aren't going to help me with any filings related to this change... What specific filings are needed, is this something one can do oneself, or is it safest to retain a new attorney? Also could one simply file nothing, take the new (equivalent) job based on the EAD and only submit something if I receive a Notice of Intent?
Regards,
Peter
