Traveling outside the US after AOS application submitted

Hello,

I am currently in the US on an E2 visa and will soon be married to a US citizen.

As a result I will soon apply for an AOS.

Before I receive my green card, there is apparently a time during which I will not be able to travel outside the US.

When will this time begin:
- the moment when our marriage is registered
- or the moment when the USCIS receives my AOS application?
