  • I-864 (using assets)

Hello everyone, thank you in advance for any help.

I am having some problems with the poverty guidelines:

Last year when I started the petition for my parents the poverty guideline for (3) was set at around 24,700.00 and accoriding to my 2014 income taxes I made around ~25,000.00

The problem is now that guidelines state that for (3) I should be making 25,112.00 meaning that I missed the mark by 112$

Is it possible to use cash assets to supplement the deficiency?
    since the difference is 112$

    I would have to have 112$ X 5 = 560$

how would I go about doing this?

Show your total income in the earlier part of the I-864 as $26,000 and make sure your employment verification letter and/or recent paystubs report that your pay will annualize at $26,000 or better. Your tax return, line 22, is only what your tax return reporting for a prior year, not what your current annualized income estimate is.
