  • AOS Help Please

    Hi everybody,
My wife and i will be sending the aos package soon to USCIS . we are now in the process of getting all the documents together .
1- first of all i would like to know if i can just print all the forms from uscis website and fill them directly with black ink or should i do it in an other way as we are not using any attorney help...
2- regarding the i 864. the USC or petitioner does not meet the minimum income so we will be using a joint sponsor...but on the supporting documents for the petitioner we already have the tax transcripts from last year but we do not know what other supporting documents to use along with the transcripts knowing that the USC has not been working recently ( this last month), so no letter of employment nor pay stubs!!! are tax transcripts enough supporting documents in case the usc is unemployed.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    best regards!!

I can only really answer part 1 - We did everything ourselves (green card through marriage) and have just been approved after interview. We just downloaded them from USCIS website and saved them to the computer. We used adobe reader to fill out most of the forms and used black ink, where necessary such as signing and dating the docs.

For our i 864 we had submit a 1044 (tax return), as long as they cover the last financial year you should be okay. However, if they need more information USCIS will send you a notice asking for more information and they will be specific about what they need.

    Hope this helps a little.

        Yasmin91,

In addition to your joint sponsors most recent tax return, submit also their W-2s, employment letter and recent payslips (if available) to support their I-864 form.
