  • Background check/Interview before EAD approval??

Applied for i-485, 1-765, 1-130 (MSC # and local office is M***aukee, WI)

    Timeline
    2/19- uscis rec'd paperwork
2/24- rec'd email notification that cases were accepted
2/27- rec'd bio metric appointment notice
3/10- RFE (request for evidence received) i-693 medical exam (advised to complete exam and bring results to interview)
    3/17- bio metrics complete
4/2- Saw update on website that my interview was scheduled for 5/5
4/6- Received Interview appointment notice for 5/5 at 11am in M***aukee

Currently i-765 and i-130 is still at the initial step "My case was received", no updates since 2/24

FIRST..IS IT COMMON FOR THE INTERVIEW for AOS TO BE SCHEDULED PRIOR TO APPROVAL OF EAD?

SECOND...IF THE INTERVIEW IS SCHEDULED, DOES THAT MEAN BACKGROUND CHECK WAS PASSED?

Background check should go fine without any issues but with the interview letter we also received a second page that asks to provide documentation IF he was ever charged with a crime (not traffic related) OR arrested or detained and no charges filed.

THIRD..IS THAT A STANDARD FORM THEY INCLUDE IN THE INTERVIEW NOTICE OR IS THAT A RED FLAG THAT THEY FOUND SOMETHING?

You dont need i-130 or ead to be approve for b4 interview, yes seems like background checks has passed but if you have any arrest or anything like you must bring documents of court disposition to your interview

      Update

I wanted to give an update after my interview...

interview went super fast and we were approved 2 hours after the appointment

My EAD was approved only a few days before my interview because I called for an inquiry because it was approaching the 75 days. the next day (5/1) my EAD was approved. I guess now it's pointless since the green card was approved. what a relief!
