  • Request for Initial Evidence I-485 PLEASE HELP

We submitted form I-485 for adjustment of status and form I-765 of employment for my husband (Form I-130 was approved before) in March 2015 and in April we received the bio metrics appointment and later in April we received a pink sheet request for initial evidence I-485 stating that we need to submit all supporting tax documentation (W-2s, 1099s, form 2555 and all supporting tax schedules) submitted to the IRS for the most recent tax year 2013.

The Petitioner/Sponsors household member need to submit all tax related documentation for the most recent tax year. we need to submit petitioner or sponsors household member documents? i am confused

Its written that (must be able to distinguish income on tax return transcript?) what does that mean, please advise?

Did you submit, the certified IRS, Tax Return Transcripts? If not your can have it printed from their website immediately or request same via the mail. You should send (tax returns) for the petitioner and the joint sponsor, if you r using one.

Along with the certified tax returns transcript, you need to send the relevant forms that goes with them eg W2, 1099 -etc.

You didn't make it quite clear what document is required from the joint sponsor, but I'm guessing, proof of status, which would be birth certificate and or passport. I hope these ingo helps.

Thank you for your response, I think its asking for petitioner/sponsors household member supporting tax documentation which in my view are the tax transcripts that you mentioned above can be downloaded from website which have the wage and income transcript it has info regarding W-2 along with other transcripts that are available.

but from where i can get the 1099s and form 2555?

and how am i supposed to distinguish income on tax return transcript? i am very confused, please help...

It's what was given to an employee at the end of year, whereby one take to have their taxes filed. Therefore, they may have received a, W2 or 1099. I'm not sure what your sponsor received. However, if they examined the actual tax return documents given to the tax preparer, on the day they filed their taxes, u may find stapled to the documents a W2 or 1099 or both depending..

The Certified Tax Returns, is preferred by USCIS, just send that. Listed on it, is the required year's earning.

Irs has the 4 transcripts available one of them is wage and income transcript which has info of W2 and 1099INT should i send that one? Or i was thinking that i should send all transcripts for the most recent year. And i need to send for sponsor household member only ? Not for petitioner? Cause petitioner didnt have any job so the tax was filed jointly or should i file separetly as well? But how am i supposed to distinguish income on tax transcript? Please advise and thank you for your reply and time

Seems like you are mixing up yourself:- just sent the current year for your joint sponsor and petitioner also, but put 0 for her income, if she didn't work. However, give explanation why any party did not work. You should also get job letter from the joint sponsor's boss, with reference to date work started, how much earnings per week or month etc. U have got to read the instructions for the applications, and send all that is required, to prove your case.

                Request for Initial Evidence I-485

                Hello,

I need help please. I applied for a I-485 and got my biometrics done on 9-21 i received a letter today 9-27 requesting for initial evidence.

Will this delay the arrival of my Employment Authorization Document?

Also they are asking for evidence of assets that meet the standards because apparently the documents my wife and I submitted in the first place did not meet the 125% of the poverty guideline for the petitioner's/sponsor's household size.

I was employed last year through July of this year and between last year and this one I made 45,000$ (I am the petitioner) and my wife made $18,000 why are they being such a pain? and what documents do they want exactly?

                Please help!
                All the help is welcomed!
