Hi, please help I'm in a huge mess. Now before anything I wanted to say that I wasn't involve in the process at all, my dad did everything (he has a lawyer) so I didn't bother to know how my dad was handling the process (Mostly because I'm ignorant when comes to this stuff) . Big mistake and I know that. Ok so I've been living here in the US since 2010 as an asylee. I was underage back then and my dad was still a resident and an asylee as well. Last year (October) I made an application for my Green Card (I was 19 then so no longer underage which is why I'm in this huge mess) and my dad also became a citizen last year. Ok so they told me to do the biometrics which I did December last year. But then I received a letter from immigration pretty much saying that I'm no longer able to apply as an asylee due to my age. Also in the letter it says that I can make a new application using the I-290B and include the fees. Now my dad didn't do that, instead he sent a new I-485 and sent it (yeah he **** up again ffs) and a $420,00 check. Now I was really confused because I received another letter this year saying that the amount was incorrect. Now I understand it's because the $420,00 is the I-130 fee, and that the reason they say the amount is incorrect is because I have to pay $1070 for the I-485 I believe. Now here's the question. Is there a way to work around this without having to pay another $1500+ (which we don't have) and also if,by miracle, I find the way to get that money should I send it to them or instead fill the I-290B? Now I'm sorry if this is so confusing, it is for me as well. Thank you!
