I would appreciate some help on that. I am going abroad in the end of May with a valid H-1B visa and passport stamp (valid until 2017). My I-485 adjustment of status is still pending but there is a chance that it will be approved while I am abroad. I know that I can travel abroad with valid H-1B without considering abandoning my I-485 adjustment of status application. No advance parole or EAD is needed.
However, I am not sure what happens if you do travel outside the United States and the permanent residency is approved while you are traveling and you re-enter as an H-1B. Is it possible to cancel the permanent residency? Please let me know if someone has similar problem or more info on this issue. Thanks.
