Hi There,
I'm new to the forum and I'm currently going through the green card process. I've done lots of reading and trying to figure things out. I"m currently on an H1B (4th year), and just filed my PERM. Going for EB3
I'm looking forward and wondering about the next steps. A lot of this is being controlled by my company and the immigration lawyers. I feel that in terms of life suability (eg. the ability to get another job and stay in the country if I lose my current job) it would be best to file my I-485 concurrently with my I-140, and then get my hands on a EAD sooner. I'm also excited that EB3 PD for all other countries is catching up so quickly!
Was wondering how common it is for a company or immigration lawyers to suggest concurrent filing of the i-140 and i-485? I can't really see an advantage for the company to want to do this. Do you know if concurrent filing is common practice in company sponsored green cards? What's a good way to present/ask my company for concurrent filing?
Thank you!
