  • Request for initial evidence on i-485. HELP! Suspended case

we suspended processing of your case, Receipt Number MSC, because we need more information from you. Your notice explains what we need from you to resume work on your case. We will not take action on your case until we receive the evidence or the deadline to submit it expires. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your request for initial evidence. Fingerprint schedule in a few days! What does this mean?

    I'm nervous please help!

    Thanks,

When did you send in your forms? It appears you may have left out something, i.e. signature, left a field blank, didn't file a specific document. It will tell you on the notice you receive via post mail. Basically your case is on hold until they get all the items they are seeking prior to moving forward with your case. Try not to be nervous, from what I've read its pretty common to have a case be suspended until they receive document requested.

I would still go to the Fingerprint appt, its basically 5 minutes of your time - but in the long run, you can contact the office and ask them if you can still go to the fingerprint appt even if your case has been suspended following documentation they need provided. Best of luck to you.
