Impact on my I140 when I file the I485 with my husband

Hi Everyone,

My husband and I have separate I140 and H1Bs and we both are past 6 years on the H1B renewal. My husband has a better priority date on 2008.

So If we file the I485 together under my husband when the status is current,

- what happens to that status of my I140 and H1B (which is valid until 2018).

- Will I be able to continue with my current employer and renew the H1B past 2018 ?

- will I be able to do an H1B Transfer or change my employer (after I485 is filed with my husband and the status is still in pending status)

I would like to continue work in H1B until I get the Green card. Please let me know your suggestions.
