I found out that I need to fill out the form I-864 as one of the I-486 procedure. The problem is my wife is a PR and I had an approved I-130 already. I'm working with National Visa Center these days for my visa number and my priority date is coming soon.
However after I've paid the fee and all that, the NVC sent my wife the I-864 packet (and sent me DS-230 part 1). So my question is: now we need to fill out the I-864 for my immigrant visa number, but later on when I need to adjust my status, which is the I-486, will I have to be working on I-864 again? Its really problematic now because there's load of work for the I-864 and we'd be really happy to work on it only once as possible, just like relative of an US citizen. Thanks
