  • Urgent! Please help with info regarding traveling abroad with temporary GC

Hello everybody, Here are the fact : I came to USA with a tourist visa, got married, received a conditional green card based on my marriage with my US citizen husband. I was wondering, me and my husband got approved for medical and enrolled on it

we both work and get around 350 a week, we pay rent, we have a sponsor that makes a lot of money and is on the US army that signed all the co-sponsor papers for us. I own a conditional green card based on marriage. my husband is a US citizen born here never married before. We do not receive food stamps or any other kind of benefit, we pay all out of pocket, and we pay taxes in every paycheck, expect for medical. Medical is the only thing we qualified for free and accepted.

Questions: we are going to Brasil, my home country, for sickness on the family reasons, we gonna stay for 3 weeks.
1- What documents we should bring to show at the immigration? (We gonna land on JFK new-york) 2-Is that airport harsh on green card holders? 3-We gonna be together, can he go with me in the GREEN CARD HOLDERS line, or should I go with him on the US CITIZENS LINE?

4-When coming back, is there a chance that they gonna see that we both are on medical and find me ''inadmissible'' ? 5- Also, occasionally me and my husband take a hit of weed because we both have arthritis , should we quit for a month or two before the trip? Can they test us for weed on the system on our way back to US?
Thanks a lot in advance for each of you for any information you can give us !

Valid, unexpired Green Card & Unexpired Passport itself is enough, plus you'll travel with your husband. US Driver license etc - if possible travel with Marriage Certificate (although not required).

Airport Immigration officers are never harsh on anyone, unless you have something to hide or involved in something illegal. I have traveled multiple times from multiple airports on valid visa, never had any issue. Also, you're travelling only for 3 weeks - not like one year extended stay. They'll ask typical normal questions like where you coming from? US address? how long did you go for? Did you visit any other countries during this trip etc?

3-We gonna be together, can he go with me in the GREEN CARD HOLDERS line, or should I go with him on the US CITIZENS LINE?
Normally I have seen Green card and US Citizen line is same, other than non-immigrant visa holders.
