I485 RFE employment based

Hi All,
I got a RFE on my I485 petition employment based. Uscis is requesting me to Mail "Certified IRS Form W2 transcripts ". What does "Certified” mean?
Do i need to submit my W2 issued by the employer or something else?
Does anyone received similar kind of request ?
Kindly share what needs to be submitted?

Go on the IRS, website and print off a Certified Tax Returns, for the year or years you were asked and send in along with your W2 (yes, this is what you received from your Boss/Employment), or 1040 which ever you have. Normally, with a Certified Tax Returns, your W2 isn't necessary but do send in, since u were asked.

MaryH , thank you for you response. i did check with IRS and they are able to provide the Certified 1040 for only past 7 years, but uscis is asking me the details from 2001 to 2008 i do have w2 for this period, but i cannot get the certified 1040 from IRS for those years(2001 to 2008). any other supporting doc will help me ?
kindly note: the sponsoring employer went out of business in 2011.

After certain years, you are unable to get certified Tax Returns. USCIS, is aware of what you can or cannot get, therefore, send your filled copies, if you had filled Taxes, during those years with a letter of explanation.
