SSN after Green Card

I just received my green card this last weekend and I was wonderinf if I needed to "change" my SSN? I already have a card that I got when I received my work permit a couple of months ago but on the card it says valid for 1 year with work permit... Do i need to go to the office and change that? Thanks for your help!

An SSN is not changed. The number remains with a person for a lifetime. But name, citizenship or marital changes should be reported to SSA for one's SSN record and possible changes in future benefits.

Thank you Ray! Nothing changed except the fact that now I am a permanent resident!

Yes, you should go to your nearest Social Security Administration Office, and have your S. S. Card changed, to match your Status, as a Permanent Resident.
