Green Card Case Pending. Going to Grad School in different state then husband.Help!!

Hi all,

I had done my biometric on May 28th, temp. work and travel approved on July 13th. Still waiting for scheduling interview.

Meanwhile, I will be going to another state for my master and he will be staying in NY state.

QUESTION : Can I apply the residency in the other state for saving some tuition fee?

You can try but it will be unlikely that they will give you "state resident" status which is what you need for instate tuition.
because in order to get "state reside" status for tuition purposes, you have to prove that you will be living in the state after you are done with school.
(they get state tuition because they pay state tax in that state) With your husband living in NY and school officials will see it as you will more likely to go back to Ny to be with your husband after you graduate.... Unless you can somehow prove to the school officials that you intend to live there and establish family there, and that you didn't move to that state just for school.

Most of the schools requires you or your spouse must been state resident at least a year before the first day of class.
