My father he left our family and entered US legally on 2000, but since maybe around 2003, he kept staying in US without any legal status/visa till now.
I came US at 2008 as F1 student and then had a job here with H1B visa at 2012, now my company is filing green card application for me now. All my status is in legal status.
Maybe I am worried too much, but my big concern is whether my father’s illegal status here will affect my GC application or not. Since when I am preparing the form I-325, it asks “city and country of residence” of my parents.
If I tell the truth that my father is currently staying in US, if USCIS finds out he does not have legal status, will they deny my GC application? Or should I just hide the information and say his residence is still in our home country?
I wish someone could give me some advise from immigration law perspective or based on their own experience. Really appreciated!!
