My husband and i have been married for almost 7 years. We have 2 kids, and bought 2 houses together. I am US naturalized citizen and my husband has been living in Brazil since we met, and has travelled pretty much every month since we met, expect when my son and I lived for over a year in Brazil.
he decided to move to US and when I started the process it was supposed to be done in Brazil, however I'm finishing graduate school and he decided to quit his job at the University he worked for to help me with the kids, and maintained his training business, requiring him to travel to Brazil every other month. He is here since July 16 on B2 visitor visa.
My questions:
1. We got I-130 approval in August 2014, but only last week we decided to send 1-485. Has anyone here has a similar experience with dealing with NVC and then USCIS? I was informed that his process is currently at NCV and needs to be requested by USCIS.
2. I am a graduate student since 2012. We have one of our houses here in MD renting. My husband is the one providing financially for my studies, kids school and care. I included him as part of the household and his income from the training business in Brazil, something he will continue to have after having the green card. Our net worth is high, as we have savings, his business income and 3 houses. Do you think USCIS will challenge or question our finances?
3. How long has been taking the process for change of status when I-130 has already been approved?
Many thanks and good luck to all.
