I got the dreaded I-797 green "rejection" letter after sending in all my forms for the green card application and I have a question that I was hoping someone would be able to answer. The form states that I was rejected for not signing the I-130 (thought I double and tripled checked everything but I'm not as smart as I thought and it still got past me). This is the exact wording on the I-797C:
"You must sign your application in the signature block if you are 14 years of age or older. Your parent or guardian may sign their name in the signature block if you are younger than 14. Your signature or a parent's or guardian's signature in the 'Signature of person preparing form, if other than above' block is not a valid signature for this purpose. Please sign and send the application with the correct fees to the address listed on the bottom of this page."
For some reason I (the applicant) typed my name and address in section F but did not sign my name, when I actually should have only signed my name in section E. So here is my question. If I resubmit the original form but sign my name in section E, do you think it would still get rejected since my name and address are still typed in section F? So, should I complete a whole new form or just sign section E and send it in the way it is? I would be grateful for any help you can give me on this matter.
