They do not give me a SSN

I came here legally with a fiancée visa. I got married in time and filled out for my green card. When I got my work permit I went to the social security office to apply a SSN. They give me a paper says I will have it in 4 weeks. But after 7 weeks no sign of SSN. I came to the social office again and they said my SSN are verified. I don't know why they verify to long. I had an interview for my I-485 and it was approved but they didn't give me a SSN. How can I contact to get it? I really need it for DMV. Thank you

Call or try going back, if all failed, then after you received your Permanent Resident Card, then take that to them, see if that helps. Good luck!!!

Thank you MaryH. We called them but they said it is still in verify. I will call them again this week or bring my green card to the office as your advise. Thanks again MaryH
