Hi,
Recently I filed form I485 (Green Card application) concurrent with I765 (new Employment Authorization Document). My green card application is pending ‘ to be scheduled for an interview’. But my EAD has been approved and I received a new EAD. My old EAD that is in file was based on my F-1 (OPT) is still valid. But I assume as soon as I file I485, that would automatically take me out of F-1 status because this is an Adjustment of Status scenario and I am moving from a non-immigrant intent to an immigrant intent. Also, I am guessing it is legal to stay in US as long as my I-485 decision is pending.
My question is:
What about my I-94 which is endorsed by my F1 status (D/S, duration of status)? Does it fall off as I will no longer be considered an F-1 for filing I-485? Will this create any problem now?
Please let me know if you feel I am wrong in my understanding anywhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
