  • Will my travel affect my AOS?

    Hi all,

I hope someone here can help me. I have been in the US on a student visa for several years. My partner and I got married in early July this year. However due to some personal circumstances I had to return to my home country (Canada) for two weeks nearly immediately after that (I was on summer break from school). I returned into the US on my F-1 visa, no issues at the border, and I re-enrolled in school and am fulfilling the terms of my visa.

However I am planning on filing for AOS very shortly. I am afraid they will say that I lied to the border officer and had "immigrant intent" by re-entering on an F-1 visa after being married (even though I am fulfilling the requirements of my F-1 visa). Is it a non-issue now that I am back in the States? Should I be concerned about anything that might come up during the AOS process about this, or did I just completely screw myself over by having to travel? Is there anything I could/should do now, in any case?

    Thank you everyone in advance!
