Hello,
Can someone please help with my situation?
I am F1 student visa, but my visa expired 5 years ago. I got married with my wife (permanent resident), and she filed F2A visa for me.
I am currently attending graduate school in US (legally with valid I20 and valid I94, but expired F1).
My question is: Will this expired F1 visa affect me while I am waiting to obtain my F2A visa?
As I know, F1 student can legally stay in the US by continuing going to school.
I am about to file my I-485 and have always maintained legal status in the US by going to school, but I have not renewed my F1 visa since I have not come back to my country in the past 5 years.
