I feel like sharing my experience since this forum has been more than helpful!
Long story short, I had a job offer nearly a month after applying for AOS.
Here is my EAD Expedite timeline:
- 08/25/15: Requested EAD expedite via phone by calling the National customer service based on severe hardship and financial loss. In fact, only my husband is working. We are okay but due the complexity of our case we need to hire a lawyer and one income is not enough to cover daily expenses and legal fees.
- 08/30/15: Received a letter from USCIS asking to provide additional proof in order for them to make a decision.
- 08/31/15: Faxed some documents to support my request.
- 09/01/15: Went to my Congressman's office with copies of documents faxed to USCIS to ask for help in having my expedite approved.
- 09/03/15: Congressman called me to tell me that EAD was approved.
I strongly believe that without this intervention my request would have been denied. Every time that I called the NCSC they were helpless and really robotic. They couldn't even tell me if my fax was received!!!!!!!
Here is a list of the documents sent:
- cover letter
- i-765 NOA
- copy of biometrics
- marriage certificate
- bank statements
- Gas, internet, electricity and water bills
- copy of job offer letter
I really hope that this will help anybody in need of information on how this process can be handled.
Good luck to all! Our journey just started!
