need help for filing i485

so i am american married to a brazilian and we have been trying to get this whole immigration thing resolved by ourselves

me and my wife have filed i130 back in may to get ahead on the process since we didnt have all the money at the time to file everything at once, and ever since we have been waiting for the first confirmation letter i797 we have tried resending this letter over 3 times , they give a 30 day period within each request for the letter but without much success the letter has always come back as unable to deliver. From my understanding I cant send in a i485 application unless I have proof of eligibility which would be the i797 that im still waiting for

now we dont know what to do whether we send in the i485 stuff without the proof of elgibility

or if we send in all the documents again including i130
