  • Form i-864

    Hello everyone,

I am filing I-845 package along with I-30 soon. Regarding, Form I-864 My husband is interning right now so he still doesn't get paid or pays any taxes because my parents and my parents in law pay for our living expenses. My question is, Can my aunt (who is U.S citizen) be jointed sponsor? Do es it matter that I live in Miami and she lives in LA? also, On her taxes her husband is listed, does it matter?

Regarding the forms in general, We recently got married. All my documents are under my maiden's name however, I would like to change it to my husband's last name. When we got or marriage license and certificate, they left my maiden's name and didn't change it. I'm filling out all the forms with my married name. Could my application be rejected for the name difference?

I appreciate your help and patience

Marriage Certificates, never bears the marriage name, so it's correct, if it has your maiden name, it's correct. Therefore, when you fill out your applications, you may use your married name, if that is what you wish.

Your aunt can be your the joint sponsor.

You would need to explain why the citizen or Sponsor, isn't paying taxes.

You aren't living together... u didn't say the reason, and that could be a problem, even if it's for work purposes.

If your filing is based on marriage, it would be an up hill battle in your immigration journey, with the informations you have listed. Good luck!!!
