Hi all, i'm new to this forum and i learned a lot by reading some articles here.
My story : I'm in US for 3 years and just got married 5 months ago. I was all the time on I-20 and F-1 student status and half a year ago i got my OPT (Work permit) and start working since March 2015.
My wife is my petitioner and we sent all the documents and initial evidence about 2 months ago. Yesterday i got a "ping letter" request for initial evidence by mail.
In the letter it's written : "The petitioner/sponsor's household member on form I-864 or form I-864A must submit a complete federal income tax return submitted to the IRS for the most recent tax year (2014)"
So who need to submit the the tax return ? me or my wife ? i'm confused.
If that's me i did not worked before march 2015 and had no income, how can i submit those evidence ?
On the I-864 my fife is the sponsor but i added myself as a household member to include my income. Can that be the problem ? I added a letter from my employer that i will be working after the process of adjusting my status and receive my permanent resident.
Will appreciate any kind of help.
Thank you.
Max
