  • rescheduling interview

I have most recently changed my address to another State yesterday Sept 9 and updated a change of address. I have my interview scheduled for Sept 23, 2015. Now because of the change in address, the uscis officer inform me that they will have to reschedule my appointment for that new State address. Please, I have been out of work for a while. Is there a way to still keep my previously scheduled interview in the other State? Checking case status, it says I should receive a notice of response by Sept 21, 2015. Isn't that too late based on my previous interview appointment? Is there someway to expedite a rescheduling? Calling back USCIS officer, they inform me I will have to wait 30 days before I can inquiry about reschedule?
    Please someone help?

There's nothing anyone can do, when you made that change of address, you have diverted everything, therefore, it will at least take a few weeks hopefully not months for all your documents to be transferred to the other state and before you r then placed in line for interview, in your new state.

It's not just an automatic thing, several changes has to be made, so for them to have you in one state and interview you in another, isn't likely. Sorry!

        Hi Mary,
I called the USCIS and got several different responses between two days. I was told to make an infopass to speak with an officer in the new address area. Another USCIS rep said to mail in my original copy of the interview letter back to the office which gave it to me and write a letter stating that a reschedule is made because of a change in address. I called back a final time on day two of my change in address and was told I should not mail in my original as the letter did not instruct me to do so. I am so confused. These representative were tier 2.
        Is any of them correct?

For your own good, leave things as they are now. The customer service represents, don't know all and may give you advise that mess you up further. Whereby, your files are stuck in files and bounced around for months. You don't want to make another mistake trust me. Just concentrate on receiving a new date in your new state. Good luck!!

Hi, did you finally get the interview scheduled? How long did you have to wait? I have the same situation with my interview being rescheduled due to a change of address. Just wonder what was the wait time. Thank you!

How fast your interview is rescheduled really depends upon the new Field office. We moved from the Minneapolis, MN Field office jurisdiction to the Raleigh, NC area. Thus, our jurisdiction changed. We were in the Raleigh jurisdiction long enough for the interview to be scheduled and then later, canceled. All we got was the "Interview was canceled" notification. Then, the case went back to "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" on 08-09-18. To be clear, initially our case got to the "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" on 04-23-18.
It would help everyone who wants to help you to know what field offices we're talking about here.
