Adjustment of Status- I485

Hi, I am currently in the US as a student and have received a letter from National Visa Center, inviting me to start the Immigration Visa processing.
I have my NVC Case number, Invoice number etc.

Since I am in the US, I will be filing for AOS - Adjustment of Status- I-485 form. My priority date is not current can I still go ahead and file for AOS?

Family Based AOS

Hi,
I am also in the same situation but my priority date is going to current in Dec,2015.
I understood that since we are in USA we have to go for AOS with USCIS not a NVC.

I also mentioned this question in my new thread but didn't got any reply.

If anybody who knows the process , please let us know what will be the actual process ?
