  • Help! obtained green card after divorce

I was married for six years with my wife when she filed employment based green card application for herself, and together for me as her husband. After about one year, we got divorced in a foreign court (where she resided). But after another one year, green cards for both of us were issued.

My question is, since my green card was marriage based yet the marriage was dissolved before the green card was issued, is my green card valid? Am I a lawful permanent residence now with no string attached?

Thank you very much for helping!

If she got her green card based on an employment, and you were her dependent, your green card is fine. You did NOT get marriage based green card.
