  • timeline question...feel like my lawyer is wrong..

i'm no lawyer but i feel like my lawyer is wrong. i am a us citizen my husband is from ireland we are doing an AOS based on marriage.

my husband just got his EAD in the mail this week, his biometrics were about a month or so ago.

our lawyer is telling him we will get a letter for an interview in two weeks time and then the interview will be one week from that date.

i'm looking at the current processing times for boston and we filed in like june. so i'm really confused, also i look at everyone's timelines here and it looks like most interviews are a MONTH after the letter comes. i mean how can they expect you to be ready a week later?

Field Office Processing Dates for Boston MA as of: August 31, 2015
    Form Form Name Processing Timeframe:
I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status January 1, 2015
N-400 Application for Naturalization 5 Months
N-600 Application for Certification of Citizenship 5 Months

yes you are right. No way to predict when your interview will be scheduled but you can have an educated guess according what you see in the website. After the scheduling it's usually a month away..

thank you, bandk, the processing time on the website being january when it was august would mean we still have a while to go...
and the whole interview a week after the letter comes is just bananas. i haven't seen or heard of anyone having it that quick.
