Hello,
I got married in Mexico, and now I am in the need to adjust status and apply for a Green Card. My marriage certificate does not have my new married name because that is not common to do in Mexico. My question is: Can I fill out all my immigration forms (I-130, I-485, etc.) using my husband's name even though my marriage certificate only contains my maiden name? Is this marriage certificate acceptable as a legal name change?
I have searched the forum and haven't come accross a situation such as this.
Thank you!
