Hi, I'm wondering what to do.My situation is very bad.I have been married to my husband for 2 years and we filled all applications included I-485. We expect to be interviewd in a short time. But lately our relation is not very good and I think we will get divorced soon. I understand it will effect my paperwork. Can you tell me what will happend? How long can I stay in US after divorce? if I remarry somebody else soon can I still apply for adjustment of status?
    Thank you for your help.

It is not enough that you remain married while you get green card. You need to file the petition remove temporary conditions after 2 years of getting green card. And you need to be married at that time too. Details at https://www.immihelp.com/family-base...residence.html

You may be able to file that petition without your husband only if there is proven track record of he beating you, abusing you, battering you etc.

If all fails, you can't stay in the US at all after divorce.

You need not be married to the petitioner. If youre divorce you cna apply for nad obtain a waiver.........its very common
Also since she has been married already for 2 yrs, if she gets the GC it would not be with conditions.

If you havent filed for divorce already, its unlikley that you will be divorced before the interview. You can still get the GC if you can prove that it is a valid marriage..........valid doesnt always mean good. Where there are problems in the marraige, I would advise you to use an attorney at the interview.
