  • Confirmation of police record/s

    Hi all
Question in regards to whether there is a requirement to provide police records for the purposes of an AOS?
If I was to go through the application process of obtaining a green card from the UK consulate I am required to provide this evidence from all countries I have lived in for over 6 months.

Having read through posts here not one person has mentioned this requirement if I am in the US seeking an AOS for any of the forms associated with this.
Does the biometric finger printing part cover this? I'm assuming that's what will be used to check for any criminal activity I may have been involved in (which I haven't by the way! My record is clean as a whistle).

Obtaining the evidence from the Uk whilst in the US will take time if it is required so would like to know if everyone have been submitting these in their packs.

Your help would be much appreciated.

    Can someone PLEASE

Give a response to my question. Surely there are people from the UK who have applied for an AOS whilst being in the USA?

Did you have to get confirmation of your police records for the application process? Have you presented at the interview instead? Had an RFE for not providing it?

Your replies would be very much welcomed. The forum is one to assist others and gain information too I'd hope and I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere yet so can someone please share their experience in this particular matter?

    Many thanks

      Hello out there

Can a senior member / expert please reply to my message in regards to police records. If I was to submit an AOS application I would like to avoid any RFE notices that could arise. Naturally I don't want to add further difficulties in obtaining something that I just don't need.
I implore one of the regular contributors to please reply. I'm sure it's a question others may have and an answer would also help them too not just myself.
In particular anyone from the UK who has already applied whilst in the USA it would be invaluable to share your experiences and if you included in your package anything in relation to police records. I have said previously that I have no record of any sort so it would just be confirming that fact but don't want to spend more money or time than I need to.

Please reply as early as you can.
      Many thanks

When applying for an Adjustment of Status in the U.S., your Adjustment package is not expected to include police clearances from your country of origin or other countries.

If applying for an immigrant visa, to be processed in a U.S. consulate outside the U.S., you will be expected to provide copies and then originals of such clearances to both the NVC, and then at your Embassy interview.
