  • Waiting for Interview - 3 months and no scheduled date?

    Hi everyone,

Just curious to see what your experiences were with waiting for your permanent resident interview to be scheduled. So far here's our timeline (my husband is the one adjusting status):

    07/07/2015: Married
08/07/2015: Sent in paperwork to USCIS
    08/18/2015: Paperwork was received
    08/18/2015: Checks cashed
08/27/2015: Request for Initial Evidence (tax forms and certified translation of Turkish birth certificate)
09/11/2015: Request for Initial Evidence received
    10/15/2015: I-131 and I-785 approved
    10/20/2015: Work authorization card mailed
    10/22/2015: Work authorization card received

We also took a trip to Istanbul for my sister-in-law's wedding from November 5 -12 with advance parole and had no issues reentering the country.

However, it's been one month since we heard anything from USCIS and about 3 months since we sent in the paperwork and we still haven't had a scheduled interview date. Is that normal? We are filing from Boston, if that helps.

Yep.. I wouldnt expect an interview until January or later. You'll be lucky to even have you status change to "Ready to schedule Interview" before December ends. Be patient, it takes about 6 months+ to receive a Green card in most cases.

      Hi maurab29,

I received I 485 request for initial evidence Turkish birth certificate. I saw your message you got it same thinks too. I wonder what did you send them ? They accepted. I got Nufus Kayit Ornegi from Newyork Consular. I found Turkish to English translator. Do you think is it enough ? I wanted to ask. Thank you very much for your help. Appreciate that.
