  • I-864 confusion please help!

    Hi,

I have bit of confusion concerning the I-864, I am married to a USC who is a full time student, and worked part time this year. His parents still claim him as dependent, therefore he never had to file tax return. He is not able to meet the income requirement, and my friend (also USC) is willing to co-sponsor.
Now I am confused whether is possible for my friend to co-sponsor, or does it have to be his parents (since they are the one filing tax with my husband as a dependent)?
If it is possible, do we just state how much he made last year through his part time job and include his parents tax return, as well as my co-sponsor form and tax return?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Your husband must complee an I-864 as the primary sponsor, even though he has no income.
Your friend can be a co-sponsor with her own I-864.
