I hope someone can help!we are about to mail our package for the adjustment of status,but we currently don't have to fill form I-864 sponsor form as I don't have all the required documents,however we are planning to submit it upon requested because my goal now is for aDHS to accept the form and issues a work permit for my husband.

Your lack of a submitted I-864 will result in the paperwork coming to a dead halt without a Work Authorization being issued until you respond to an RFE with your sponsorship package.

You're not thinking too clearly about how USCIS processes an Adjustment package. Senidng an incomplete package is just creating a problem a few months later.

What is RFE?will they return the whole package or they will keep it and waiting for the completion of sponsorship package?we just want the package goes now while waiting for the form 864 completed because we don't to spend the filling fees,it's been rough on our end ,we afraid we may spend the money for something else.

RFEis an acronym for "Request for Evidence." If you submit the Adjustment package without the I-864 form and supporting docs, the package will be kept, but within a couple of weeks, you will receive an "RFE," asking for the sponsorship evidence, with a deadline of 87 days, or the Adjustment will be denied and you will lose your $1,070 submittal fee. If you can't put together a sponsorship package within 87 days from when the RFE is dated, you lose it all and have to start over with another $1,070. If you can't put the sponsorship package together for your submittal, what makes you think you can put it together within the 87 days you will be given to do it? By not submitting the package with everything needed now, you are exchanging a current problem for a bigger problem later on. Think about that before submitting your package without having proof of being able t sponsor the immigrant.

My advice is to do this right, or don't do anything until you are ready to meet the requirements.

The evidence request for a medical exam I-693 can go to the applicant or attorney.

We didnt include the I-693 initially with our package and they continued to process it as usual, however you will receive a notice to bring it to the interview when it is time. If you could complete the medical examination ahead of time though, it is always recommended.

You were lucky, as I've heard of it happening both ways: a request for the I-693, or an instruction to bring to interview.

Ray Be,how ling it usually takes to be notified that ur package has been received.I mailed it since December 24,2015 and haven't received anything yet in the mail.Pls help me to understand this.

I received a mail stating that I have to submit form I-864 along with all the supporting documents,so my question when we mail it should we submit tax returns for 2014 tax or 2015 tax return?our package was received December 28th,2015 and got fingerprints last week,and we just received this notice for sponsor and they gave us 87 days. Please help.

You need to return a completed and signed I-864, copy of 2015 Federal income tax return (2014 might be okay if 2015 not done yet), W2 copies, employment verification letter.
