Hello,
I am currently living in China for work. I will be moving back to the United States next summer. My wife has had her Green Card for 5 years and we have kept a residence in the U.S. during that time to keep the clock going for her naturalization. After we move back, she will start the naturalization process. We would like to have her sponsor her parents to come live with us in the U.S. after she completes her naturalization. I would sponsor them myself, but I'm not allowed to. (I'm a U.S. born citizen).
Her parents currently have 10 year travel visas, 9 years remaining, where they can come to the U.S. for 6 months at a time. We will fill out the form once they are in the United States rather than with them being in China. Do we need to file form I-130, I-485, or both? I don't think they want to be U.S. citizens since they won't get any benefits from it like Medicare or SS since they didn't work in the U.S.
Can someone post a link so I can see all the documentation I need to get for them in China BEFORE they come to the U.S.? I don't want to have them fly back and forth, it's time consuming and expensive.
