i485 RFE- Birth Certificate Issue- December 2015- Need suggestions pls

Dear All,

I received the following RFE on my i485 around end December.
You have submitted an English translation of your birth certificate. However you did not provide a copy of the foreign document from which this translation was made. Transactions submitted without the relating foreign documents are not acceptable.Please provide a clear copy of your birth certificate along with a certified translation

My birth certificate was from Andhra Pradesh and it was already in English. So I did not translate it. In many forums, I found that the language of the birth certificate creates some confusion (e.g information taken from). My Birth certificate had the following language:

This is to certify that the following information has been taken from the original record of birth which is in the Register
for YYY Municipality (Local Area) of Tahasil ABC of YYYY District of Andhra Pradesh.

How should I handle this RFE? What additonal documents can I present since this was not a translated version. Need your help on this?

I will suggest that you call uscis and ask them exactly what they need since the document was originally in English. Also my opinion is that you need to copy(Xerox) your original document both sides and send the copy. you need a copy of the birth certificate that you received at birth and not a document that is taken from the original copy. I hope that gives you an idea of what they need.

Thanks for your inputs mihaella ! The birth certificate that I submitted as a part of my i485 was a photocopy of the birth certificate that I had received from the concerned authorties and that is why I am wondering what else can I submit.
