Our interview was in New York City

Little bit of background: my husband is American (naturalized) . I am HIB visa.

We had the interview on January 14, 2016 @ 12:05pm. We arrived at 11:40am and the call our number at 12:40 approximately. The IO asked to give to sworn statement. Then she proceed to ask my husband( the petitioner) basic questions such as what is my complete name, DOB, country of birth, etc.. , then she ask me the same questions regarding my husband. Then she wanted to see the certificate originals of my husband American passport, his certificate of naturalization.

Afterwards she asked him of why I didn’t pursued the green card trough my job ( I actually stated the process trough the company but it was very slow..), he answer that we love each other and we thought that is easier and much faster to process the green card through him.

Then she asked for utilities bills, bank statements, my birth certificate, passport, advance parole and I-94.We travel abroad last September and I re-enter the country with the Parole. She asked me for my last I-94 last. I told her that I the officer never got me that paper; she explained to me that this is a new procedure, the officer doesn't give that document upon entry, I need to download it following a web page: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/consent. She downloaded the I94 from her computer. A piece of advice if you travel and reenter the country with the AP, bring you I-94 from the webpage.

Next she proceed to asked me all the yes or no questions in the form such as if you ever enter illegally into the country, if you ever commit a crime etc…. she started to asked me more details regarding my previous visas, if I was a J1 .. I say not I explained to her that I have 2 F1 visas from my two degrees and then the corresponding H1B's.Then she asked me to give more details of my current job.

In the end of the interview she told me that my case will be under review and give me a piece of paper and told me if you don’t hear anything from USCIS in 120 days you should contact us through info pass. I asked her if there is any kind of problem with my application and if she needs more documentation her response was that she wanted to go over all the documentation before hit the approved button in the computer. She took my AP and passport and makes a copy and returned it to me.

When we left the office around 1:15pm we fell weird .....because we are legitimate married couple and we have all the support documentation and answer all the questions right. At 1:30pm I received an email from USCIS that my I485 was approved and on January 14th 2016 your case status is "card order/Document production" and on January 15. I received 2 separate mails from USCIS that my I485 , post decision activity " On January 14th we approved your application….." and the same for I130.

    Good Luck!
