Jane,

On an unpredictable basis, petitions (I-130, I-131, and others) do go to the Nebraska Service Center regularly.

There have been complaints of the Nebraska Service Center being more demanding (anal) about specific types of evidence.

Thats very sad. I have been waiting since October but it hasn't been 3 months yet. Is there anything I can do? Can I email immigration about my case? I have a lawyer but he is not helpful at all.

What procedure have you applied for? Your waiting time may vary depending on your petition or application type.

Hi Ray,

I applied for I-130 Petition for Alien Relative back in April 2015 when I was in Australia. I am an Australian citizen and my husband is an American citizen. My priority date is 04/27/2015. We did not wait for an approval but we did receive a letter from Immigration saying that they are processing my case. I applied for B2 visa in July 2015 and came to USA. I came to USA 10/11/2015.



My husband hired a lawyer to do the rest of the paper work. I applied for I-1485, I-131 and I-765. Received date 10/23/2015 and notice date 10/29/2015. All three forms. Bio-metrics done 11/19/2015.

RFE letter received 11/16/2015. I responded back to RFE 12/10/2015. I have not heard anything since than. We are struggling financially and I need to start working. With my husband working alone is not enough.

Response to an RFE doesn't usually get you a confirmation from USCIS. So your timeframe thus far is reasonable.
