Apologies for yet another thread to this forum!
I have tried and tried to get my head around the Sponsor's household size and after reading the guidance am no clearer to my answer.
My wife is sponsoring me as I am the immigrant so the first number entered in this section. It goes on to say other person not included on the affidavit which is ok apart from the guidance stating "if you are married is married enter 1 in the field".
Is that not double counting the household as I am the husband who's immigrating and the whole purpose for needing to fill out the form in the first place.
Should I ignore the box stating if married add 1 for the spouse as it will increase the household unecessarrily?
Also with tax information is it a requirement to include all 3 years? The confusion arises in that my wife's return deducts rental income from a property (reported on a seperate form as she was overseas previously) which obviously reduces her earnings which due to how the income is reported as instructed by tax authorities will make it look like she doesn't earn enough when in fact she earns well above the minimum. It's almost as if we are penalised for having rental income.
She will be submitting the 2015 return this coming week... Is it best to wait to submit that instead which will simplify matters greatly as the rental income will not have to be reported in the same way as she now lives in the USA?
Will this 2015 tax year count if she submits before I send if my AOS documents?
